Re: Premier League Discussion Thread
I dont know if any of you guys signed up to Villa Streams for any games last year, but they are offering a year long membership for a limited time for only £30.
Usual prices are:
1day - £1.99
1 week - £3.50
3 months £12.00
(I think, I cant remember the exact prices)
£30 will get you every one of Villa's Premiership game and 99% of the cup games (there was only 1 cup game that they were unable to stream last season).
You should also be able to view any other Premiership game on there (pretty much anything that was on Sky Sports or ESPN was streamed on there too).
I subscribed for most of the last half of least season and the quality is probably the best you can find online. No buffering, no loss of picture or sound. The entire game streamed perfectly.
Only downside that I found was that 2 of the games had foreign commentary (Swedish, I think). These were the less popular games that seemed to have foreign commentary. I remember one being the game at Blackpool.

Yeah i recieved that email aswell, i signed up earlier.
I hope martinez isn't selected to be manager, he doesn't look like a manager with alot of influence, especially over signing players. I would prefer Hughes over him any day.

Bad day. The manager of Wigan (a team that almost got relegated!) rejects us and Ashley seems to have agreed terms with Man Utd.

Re: Premier League Discussion Thread
There was a post here about a year ago saying our annual wage bill was something like £80-£90m and MON had to lower which was one of the reasons he left.
Since the end of least season we have sold/released all of these players so we should have cut off around £20m-£25m off our wage bill (yes, I know we signed a few players too).
Can see us selling a few more players too before next season (Beye, Warnock, Dunne/Collins, Ireland, Heskey) so that could reach £30-£35m.
I imagine we will end up having one of the cheapest wage bills in the Premiership depending on who we buy this summer.
PLAYERS SOLD/RELEASED
John Carew (£2.6m)
Steve Sidwell (£2.6m)
Curtis Davies (£2.1m)
Nicky Shorey (£1.6m)
James Milner (£2.6m)
Craig Gardner (£1.1m)
Nigel Reo-Coker (£2.6m)
Brad Fridel (£2.1m)
Moustapha Salifou (£0.6m)
Wilfred Bouma (£1.6m)
Marlon Harewood (£1.1m)
Ashley Young (£3.4m)
http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/premiership/villa-seeking-to-control-wage-bill-15100432.html
Take Bent, Ashley Young and Downing out of our first team squad and we look extremely ordinary:
http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/FirstTeam
I think we'll do well to get in the top half again next season. Will either need 3 or 4 quality signings or our kids to really up their game.

I read about this last night.
Surely there is no chance of it happening? Good manager though.

David Moyes to Villa according to this:
http://twitter.com/#!/AVFCMysteryMan
I followed him quite a bit last season and he picked up on alot of things that turned out to be true.

Re: Premier League Discussion Thread
There are surely other managers who want the job, why Lerner turned to Mcleish i have no idea, he surely knows what the reaction will be!
Rumors going around is that an official announcement will be made tomorrow
Protests of around 200 was outside Villa Park yesterday :s
In other news, this is a 'leaked' picture of the away kit.

Re: Premier League Discussion Thread
Even if he wasnt the Birmingham manager, I cant see why we would want him.
He made Birmingham so boring (37 goals last season I think), and has got them relegated twice. I think only Avram Grant did a worse job than him. He got a bit restricted by the Birmingham board with who he could buy but he still shouldnt have got relegated with that squad.
He'll be a good manager for Blackburn, Bolton, Stoke etc, but not us. We started to play some nice football towards the end of last season and move away from the long ball. It's just one large step backwards in my opinion.

Re: Premier League Discussion Thread
Mcleish is a good manager and will do well for you lot i reckon, played nice football when he was hibs manager, same when he was at rangers and also the same when he managed Scotland.
I reckon his style of play when he was at brum was more to do with the players he had at his disposal tbh.
lets hope there is a derby next season in the cup, should be interesting xD

First 6 games are pretty good to start with, but December is going to be rough.
Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool all in one month.

Nice kit. Glad they have gone back to the round-necks. I hate v-neck shirts. We dont have a sponsor yet do we?
We should be top of the league with those opening fixtures. If not, then MCLEISH OUT!
