    I will make the first of our training sessions today in otacon after the 17:00 tournament 6v6 survival style, i would like to see as many of you there as possible.

    Instead of making a new topic, thought i'd bump this!

    Basically, what i have been thinking is, would it be a good idea to get a team 1 and team 2 TRF survival/tourny team.
    The reason for this is i reckon in the past few weeks our teamwork has not been improving(of course there are some matches when it all goes to plan) or even getting worse. If we had teams that ALWAYS played with each other, then we could get to know each others playstyle-tactics-etc a bit better and most importantly our roles within the team for each mode.

    There should be a plan of action for every mode and in last nights survival, was some of the worst teamwork we have shown Sad

    A perfect example of this..the last match GG RACE against av LV16 team..i put in teamchat "i run", then dboi wrote "i att"and finally asked "state your roles" for the length of the briefing, not even one person answered. Needless to say we got destroyed.
    Im not making myself immune from this as i am as guilty of it as anyone, and i know my play the past week has been disgusting Sad

    The most frustrating thing is i reckon on our day, we are a good match for anyone.

    I defo feel having dedicated teams, with training for every mode etc would benefit us all greatly..

    Thoughts??

    The problem is with that is how active members are, for 2 proper trf team that requires 12 trf member online which could be tricky. However i do see where you come from and i think its a good idea. Its just the question of getting hold 12 members who are going to take part in survival.

    yeah i agree wtap that last round was terrible due to the fact there were only 2 attackers and 4 defenders

    when i called for another attacker the defence fell apart. When i ask the team to state their roles in the briefing it is to avoid situations like this as i know most of the team prefer to defend which is not always practical. in future if the team doesnt comply i will give roles!

    i dont know whether the issue is with psn or konami but disconections happen far too frequently during survivals and we always seem to be playing with 5men or less, practicing handicaped may be useful.

    The disconections really have been hampering us recently, thats for sure. It does seem like every second game, one or two people DC. So yh, i reckon playing handicapped could be benificial.

    Totally agree atti, it does require 12 people online. Which could be the main stumbling block. How many of our roster plays survival regularly, there is quite a large number of people in TRF that i have never seen online or even on these forums. Maybe time to get a more coherent, regular clan base. ( i dont mean that in any bad way)

    i think giving people dedicated roles for each mode is the best idea D, some game modes we dont have a balance of att-deff, which as seen this past week, doesn't really work. Sad

    I like to let dboi run the whole TRF team but I will stick my nose in here and say DO NOT bother with 2 teams.

    Our clan has been running for 18 months now in one form or another and the guys that have been here since the start will probably back me up on this. Having 2 teams will cause much more trouble than it's worth.

    There are probably old topics about it somewhere but at one point it left us with 5 clan members due to the arguements it caused. You may get it to work but we have tried it 3 times and it's been chaos each time.

    Concentrate on getting a group of 10 people or so working as a team. Password the survival team if you have to, and give the password to the 10 people you want in your '1st team'. Eventually you will get a core of players together who will know their roles in each mode.

    You mentioned RACE as an example, The Rebellion generally have 2 people who always attack(Yumi, Pyun) and 2 people who always defend (Me, Zoli), the other 2 players will use their common sense and look at the radar to see where their 'triangle' is needed. These 'common sense' players are the people you need. If you see a stray 'triangle' on the radar, see who it is and tell them what to do. If they keep refusing to listen then the team wont progress with them in it. Same applies with capture.

    Looking at the roster, I see these people as regular players:

    Amy Lou
    Test Dummy
    Dboi
    Wtap
    HiSnake
    Cyborg Ninja
    Legend Killer
    Phantom Guard

    There are actually 20(!) Rebellion alt characters in there, and the other 10 are either new players or just quite inactive (I've just kicked a few out after seeing that they have no TRF in their survival history). I'd say 4 more regular players are needed. Get 12 people trained and you are on to a winner. Hopefully Sunday's training sessions will help.

    About all the dc's you are getting. Who is dc'ing and what upload speed are they using? Try using 96k for a bit and see if the dc's are continuing. If people keep losing connection on 96k then there isnt much hope. Though PSN has been very fragile recently for some reason.

    Definately don't try make 2 teams. Some days are busy and you might have extra players, some days you might have none and you just have to accept that.

    Don't expect teamwork to come naturally. It literally takes weeks upon weeks together to start to know how everyone on the team plays and get into a rhythm.

    As Payno said, lowering your upload speed to 96k will reduce disconnections but it has disadvantages also. You'll get shot behind walls a lot, your headshots won't register as quickly and others start to sponge more bullets. I'd suggest keep lowering it 1 setting each time to find a good balance between a decent upload rate and stability.

    Cheers for the help and advice guys.

    Its normally dboi or myself that DC's a lot, i cant speak for D but this has only been happening to me fairly recently, i'll check my upload speed etc though and see if it helps Smile

    I can see where you are coming from with the problems that can arise from making 2 dedicated teams and also the possible arguments that could ensue from making them, let alone just having the number online to make it work

    The teamwork is a strange one, some days its really good, other days, not so good, which of course can just be because people(like myself) have very off days(or weeks Sad )

    I reckon the frustrations that have occurred have really been because it has pretty basic errors of judgement that lead to silly losses, which then gets everyone frustrated.

    Hopefully tonight we can get a good run at things and get roles sorted out for most games in briefing.
