The usual room Empty The usual room

Post by Payno Thu Sep 11, 2008 10:51 am

    Hi all.

Some of the regulars may have noticed recently that my room has turned in to a bit of a joke for team stacking (everybody wants to be on the same team as R CLAN!). So I have now decided to use autobalance which automatically decides which team you will be on rather than giving you a choice. I started doing this from yesterday and it has made a really big difference to the quality of the games.

I still think we should all play on the same team though which is why I have increased the briefing time to 4 minutes before the round actually starts. This should give us enough time to sort out the team so we can all still be together. If we join mid game then it may be best to spectate for a bit as you might come up against the whole clan and go down by about 3 levels!

I will try this out for the next few days to see how it goes. Let me know your opinions as you play!

as i regular i agree totally, it was making teams blatently unfair and was making our opposition just leave the room.

The only problem i can see is the odd moaner winging about 'START ALREADY' ... 'YOU TAKE TOO LONGGG N000B'

But we can live with that Wink

All seemed to go well tonight.

Most of us managed to get on the same team during the 4 minute briefing. There were people saying PRESS START etc but if you cant wait 4 minues every half an hour or so then you have a problem. Some of these matches can go on for ages if they are good teams so Im kind of glad to get that 4 minute break!

you have to make more rounds in 1 game. instead of 4 rounds in capture or else, u can make 10 or more rounds, that can be better, ppl can stay longer and we dont have the problem to wait... sry for my english.... >_< but i hope u understand me

i really like your rooms payno but there is one thing that bothers me a bit. its friendly fire. there are a lot of situations where a team mate runs into your line of fire or something. so i usually play without friendly fire on. plus u wouldnt have to be angry about the "rollers" ;D

Ah I didnt know that having friendly fire off would get rid of the rollers. May have to change that then! I usually leave it on because thats how it is in survival and it means you have to think a little more about what you're doing. But those damn rollers.....! Will turn it off tomorrow unless there are any objections.

Anyone else agree with Horus? If people want more rounds then I will add more rounds. Keep your opinions coming as I want the perfect room for you all!

And Horus, I understand you more than most English people I know! Keep posting your ideas, your Englisg is perfect to me!

It's difficult getting a room that people keep coming back to. Think I've got the hang of it now but when I started it took ages to get it going and people kept leaving, so the games were pretty crap.

    Agree.

I've changed Base and team sneaking to 6 rounds and cut capture to just 2 rounds as that game seems to attract some right idiots for some reason.

Gotta say I had the most enjoyable night on MGO for a long time this evening. Room was constantly full, no whining or complaining (almost). Other Foxhounds were joining and playing properly. Maybe I've cracked it?

Was a good night, i actually had a successful night on Team Sneaking.
Wudda finished top, but i got knocked out, i thought i had plenty of time for a dump....
boy was i wrong, 4 mins later, i come back...next round an i had been killed...

bit confused as i havnmt got me lvl 7 back.
    i played capture, got a 14-0 ratio.
    played TDM, ration 13-3
2nd last night with u lot TSNE
    6th base > 23 - 12

Overall i now have stats of 7,500 kills / 6,000 deaths.
I'm just gonna keep at it...

Apparently these are the emblem requirements:

Not a fan of working towards emblems as it can take the fun out of a game.

I'm happy to see that you turned friendly fire off. Now it is a very good room...
But is there only Base and Tsneak?
Yesterday it was fun when we won against those campers 6-0. But why did Dinger leave after 2 minutes?
