Freak snow forces club to postpone today's game against Aston Villa. Today's Barclays Premier League game between Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa at the DW Stadium has been called off after freak weather conditions in the town overnight.

One of the best draws I've seen.

Shown great heart at the end, cocky Chelsea players celebrating too soon.
Good to see Cuellar playing on the right again.

ASTON VILLA want Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker on loan until the end of the season.

ROBERT PIRES reckons Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier has two games to save his job - despite a superb point at Chelsea.

i dont want to see that son of a bitch on the sideline again. im sick when the team is losing and he is just sitting on the bench like a fgt.

e.g yesterdays match Sunderland scored in the 80th min and he sent-in Albrighton only in the 89th min. i think Albrighton is a better playmaker than Reo-Coker.

wtf is with Carew? is he still injured if he isnt than let him play or sell him

its clear the team cant win matches with this squad so why they not buying new players?

I still think he needs to put his stamp on the team, all these young players from reserves/academy is great but the majority of them shouldnt be playing first team football yet, loan them out.

We will have to get rid of a few players to bring new ones in. But if very little is done during the transfer window, we're going to struggle. That's when i'll get pissed at Houl.

    + news
Villa's backing of Houllier is demonstrated by the fact they are going ahead with a £7million move for Lyon midfielder Jean Makoun, 27.

Houllier was allowed to bring in Spurs defender Kyle Walker, 20, on loan until the end of the season on Wednesday night.

    - news
STEVE SIDWELL will join Fulham after his move from Aston Villa to Wolves fell through at the last minute.

GERARD HOULLIER is safe as Aston Villa boss - for at least three games.

John Carew, out of favour at Villa Park, is wanted on loan by West Brom

Jean Makoun would be great if we could get him. He's like a good version of Reo-Coker.

The James Collins going to Shrewsbury is a reserve player and not the big Welsh ginger guy.

Hopefully they will back Houllier in January, no point in sacking him.
To be fair, he has had some rotten luck with all the injuries and some dodgy refereeing decisions.

I think any kind of fee we get for him would be good considering he only had 6 months on his contract.

Looks like we are trying to get Wayne Bridge on loan. Could be decent.

Blues are getting Bentley from Spurs. Wouldnt mind us going in for him.

Bridge i wouldn't mind, Warnock has been getting skinned all season. That young RB from QPR/Spurs is a done deal too, we have him on loan until the end of the season. Adds some pace to the defence.

And i think Blues are trying to get Robbie Keane too! i think Redknapp said they was offering 7mil for him, 1mil less than vdv? Razz

I've read quite a few rumours today:

Lyon have accepted our offer for Jean Makoun and it's now up to the player if he wants to join (Sky).

We've increased our bid for Charlie Adam, the Blackpool captain. £3.5m according to Sky. He's actually pretty good. Very comfortable on the ball, reminds me alot of Gareth Barry.

Sky also reported we are going in for Rodallega and Figueroa from Wigan. I think Figueroa would be better than Wayne Bridge at left back. Much more adventurous and doesnt get injured like Bridge does.

I read something about Peterbrough's goalkeeper too but I think Villa have come out and denied that rumour.

Sky are now linking us with Van Bommell. I think they are just making things up....

I saw that Yakubu has gone to Leicester! Surely somebody like him would improve our team? Seeing players like Bellamy and Yakubu playing in the Championship does make me wonder what the hell is going on with football at the moment.
