    TRF training help.

Post by wtap on Wed Jun 02, 2010 9:40 am

    Hi all.

Spoke to payno briefly about this but the long and short of it is im really looking to make TRF a harder team to beat atm.

Looking for ideas/tactics, regardless of how "cheap" they are regarding various maps/modes etc.

For instance using chaffs in cap and camping w targets etc etc.

I have spoken briefly to some clanmates about this last week, and some of the implemented ideas worked well.

What im looking for is if some of you TR(and of course fellow TRF'ers) guys could share your wisdom with us, any advice would be greatly aprerciated.

    Cheeeeers peeeepss.

    Change. Change. Change. Change.

Good idea wtap. It really depends what map, mode and selection of players you have at your disposal though. Is there 1 map or mode in particular you lot struggle with?

With TR the maps I fear are SS Res, WW Bomb and anything to do with VV Very Happy

Cheers pad, what ill do is tonight is get all the guys to tell me what their worst map/mode combo etc and ill post it up.

Atm, we have got a fairly stable regular roster so it would work if we all knew the plans and if other non regs joined just update them all on it. One of the probs we have is randoms joining and either being stupid kids or people that just dont listen. >_<

Im working on getting people on skype to get TW(and flaming xD) a bit more organised also.

I think getting skype really was the breaking point with us. It really improved our team work, but more importantly made it a lot more fun.

The maps and modes that came up the most tonight were F.F. Base, M.M. Rescue and G.G. Cap.

F.F. Base is pretty standard, 4 of the best attackers/shooters rush to Base 1. 1 to each of the near side base. If this is done right it can be a quick game. Idealy when you get those 3 bases, sit back and let them come and try get them. Get a few easy camping kills to increase their spawn timer and its game over.

M.M. Rescue, we nicknamed this Claymore Alley because of the success clays have on this map. Tonight proved it again, I think Lee got at least 3 kills out of the 4 times we played it. I'd advise no one go near the house area when defending. When attacking tonight I rushed down the little side alley with the shield to get the drum. You roll to the target and back up that alley. This worked 3/4 games we played also.

GG Cap. Not much can be done here. It's useful to have a good shielder. We came up against laggy level 16/17s on our 3rd win of a streak. We barely won the first round so when we got 4 seconds off the timer in the second round, we camped both targets in the base 1 tower for 4 minutes. Quite a cheap tactic but it works very well Wink

Any questions, let me know. Sorry for the essay Very Happy

Thanks for the tips pad. TW has been a lot better the past few nights from really just working on the "harder to beat" principle.

Finally got our first 5 win in ages, almost(should have) beat flawless and some great play all round.

We too had MM RES pretty much all night and won a good percentage of em. On a side note its so much easier when attacking in the 2nd round, which luckily we had a lot of the time after winning the 1st. They need the points more than us, so we just camp it up. xD

A good tip for FF BASE, i call it the "dboi plan" which is pretty similar to yours, is all rush base 1 then split up 3 n 3 either side base and work from there.

Also had a little 3 man DM before survival which was fun and gets the old rust out of the aim a bit quicker.

    Update**

Teamwork and Tactics were possibly at an all time low tonight. I have come to the conclusion that there is some matches when really all that is needed is some common sense, tonight on more than one occasion it was sorely missing.

People, including myself sometimes, running around like headless chickens etc. When clearly there were jobs to be done.

I really want the regular TRF members to get a bit more active and take advantage of these wonderful forums, it is a good opportunity for people to add opinions to the debate.

Also, we still dont have any mic communications which i hope to be remedied soon as.

In short....tonight was really frustrating >_<

On the upside, when we work together, we are a good match for most teams, this is something to remember and move towards...

    Onwards and Upwards TRF!!

    I think communication is key.

Back before we used Skype, we absolutely raped these forums with ideas, team line ups and tactics. Quite a few of us have been here for over 2 years now and this forum pretty much drilled every thing in to us.

Skype just topped it all off for us as we could change tactics and tell others where the enemy is immediately by just talking.

If you can get 6 active people on these forums and just talk about how your survival went you will probably learn quite alot from it. Id say its more of a benefit than any training room and is probably the reason why this clan has been going from the very beginning of MGO.

If you can then get those 6 people on Skype at some point, you will have a team that would be very difficult to beat.

i absolutely agree with payno. we should all get skype and try getting some advice from experience players like TR xD
and what wtap said true.. not only we need TW.. but also a plan
to defeat a strong team. when we face TR on survival yesterday (V.V BOMB)
i've learned something from them. i saw only 3 of them defending base2
while others defend base 1. you see if we (TRF) rush all to base 2 or 1 together... we might all get eliminated and give time to plant a bomb.
what i saying is we should come up with good plans n training at same point.
    Thanks. Smile

I still remember our very 1st Skype call like it was yesterday. Myself, Pad and Atti. We havent looked back since Wink

If you guys ever want advice on a mode or map, just make a topic here and someone from TR will always reply with something.

About bomb, when defending we always have 3 on each base. Then as soon as somebody sees the bomb, we just say on Skype and all immediately rush to wherever it is.

When attacking we always designate somebody to plant. They must have trickster 3 on and if we are playing a decent team toughness 3 comes in handy for planting. We tend to all rush the same base on the assumption that they have 3 defending each one. So theoretically we will be 6 vs 3 for a period of time which usually results in us planting the bomb. The idea is to not let them see the bomb, it keeps them rushing between each base searching for it. The planter should be patient and only make a move when his team have cleared out a base. Dont let him get spotted, even if he has to camp for most of the round it doesnt matter, as long as he eventually plants it.

    Hope that helps for bomb.

    TRF Tactics

Post by Legend/Sasuke on Fri Jun 25, 2010 6:46 pm

alright. i wanna post this so can u guys tell me your opinion.
is about tip and tactics to beat strong opponents. well here i go.
    first.
TDM : well in tdm we should camp with mags and waiting them. once they got trapped. don't just shoot them.. try stun with mk 23 pistol for extra point then kill. that's 6 point in one kill ( 3 kill + 2 stun + 1 HS ).

CAP : ok. in my opinion i got two choices.. 1- camp target with mags and hide they're target somewhere safe. 2- take both targets and use chaff.
well. to be honest choice number 2 works very well.

RACE : in this mode the best option is 3 n 3. the attacker should have a shielder , 2 good shooters. the shielder should take target, as shielder goes to capture base. enemy would do anything to stop him. as they shoot him. the shielder will gain "guard point" which will give advantage at winning in points. And for defender. they should camp with mags at opponent's target.
    i'll post other tactic later..
please let me know what's your opinion.
    Change. Cheers Smile

BOMB : when attaching, all rush to target ( whatever is base 1 or 2 ). while the planter waits until area is clear for him to plant the bomb.
when defending , 3 n 3 each base 1 n 2. if player saw the enemy planter nearby base.. conform your team which base via chat or skype.

BASE : in this mode we should capture base by 2 2 2 ( 2 at each base ). once we got 3 bases , hold them n eliminate them to increase their's timer then take 2 remaining bases n BOOOOOOM finish.

TNSE : this mode is really pain in ass. when attaching ( sneak ) the player should avoid being in small area.. because the chances getting hit by nades and never able to escape from it are high. and if possible... try using scanner ex. it will give a chance to win game. in defending the player should camp target with mags and wait them. ( i call it wtap's plan lol ).

RES : well res is similar to TNSE plan.

here you go. that's my tactic for you guys. xD
please correct me if am i wrong.
    Cheers

    hey,

well i'll go through each mode and tell you what i think.

TDM: camping in mags is not necessary unless you have a big team or glitchers in front of you. if you think they are beatable and have good shooters then go for it.

CAP: here again depends on the team, when it is tough we can camp both targets to win. besides i wouldnt advice chaffs unless you have another way to communicate (we use skype so we more or less know where the targets are). then if it is an average team i think you can go for the targets and goal it.

RACE : 3 and 3 works pretty well here. i am shielding in this mode so what ou said is pretty accurate. padraig foobs or pyun usually run with me depends on who is in the team. concerning defense not much to say except staying on their goal trap it if you like and kill their attacking team.

BOMB : one planter is designated. the planter must have trickster 3 and if he has it touhgness 3 to avoid getting blown away by the enemies grenades. the weak point is the panter will have to AR skill with him. but if your team is here to do the job there should be no problems.

BASE : depends on the team too. 3 teams of 2 people seems good. but what you could do is 4 people to the middle one, 1 on each side base as the middle one is the key. then we usually get one of their side base and spawnkill to increase their spawn camp and game over. if you cant get any of their side base don't push it just defend what you have and get easy kills.

TSNE : 1 or 2 people should bring scan ex. lately i take the usual of spawning late so i avoid getting caught quickly. most of the time i bring blades 2 and runner 1 and mono3. according to what happened in the first round you can see if a scan is needed or capping the targets is needed. in case of you get a scan you could stun them as you see them on mono to get some more points. but do it if you feel good at it.

RES : this mode is very random to me to be honest. a scanner could be here eventually.
in attacking you could rush them with the barell and/or a shield. take along 6th sense 3 and/or quaterback3 as it really helps. sop stealth is needed is drebin points are on. then put the traps at the right place and if they don't have any 6th sense they will get into them

    hope that helped you Smile

    tactics

Post by hisnake on Sat Jun 26, 2010 5:34 am

    so hello ;D

cool tactics for res ww : runner3 ,sopstealth and stun nades works great for this mode map.

res mm: runner 3 is very important too,if attacking you can make it in the house. even rushing works sometimes(when using the right path) rush and smoke nades.

For tsne UU defending: 1 camp on our roof ,1 at the ladder, 2 camp at the mancannon(at the corner and directly at cannon) another 1 should hide in the grass near the ladder.
hide hide hide its very important.

as for capture:i have to say its no fun to play without tactic and teamplay.no one protect the rusher, no one listen .at least we need 2 people for protecting our rusher.

    btw
wats up with skype? u need a pc next to your ps3/tv right ?

Firstly I merged Leggy's topic with my one btw (first mod thing iv done Change. )

Nice to see you on the forums hisnake, not seen you for a while, I was wondering where you had gotten to.

I use a laptop, so skype is a bit easier for me, i take it you only got a PC. If so, yh you need to have it close enough to where your sitting, just so that you can hear people chat, flame and rant. xD

Already got some nice tips, keep em coming. Ill comment on em later, but having just woke up and feeling verrry hungover, it will be of no use.

"in game. in defending the player should camp target with mags and wait them. ( i call it wtap's plan lol ).

^^ I ALWAYS HAVE MAGS GOMML xD

One note, while these all seem like good tactics that work, try being confident with how you approach each game.

Camping all the time may suck the fun out of the game eventually. For example, I have zero confidence in TDM, i just fail at it. Im lucky if I get a positive KDR. But in Base or Race I am full of confidence and get kills that I can only dream of in TDM. If I had that kind of belief when playing TDM Im sure I would do so much better, but I end up camping and generally fail.

So basically, you must believe if you wish to achieve!

I used to hate race too for the exact same reason. The whole mode just felt messy.

If you have 2 good teams of 3 it's awesome though. Probably my favourite mode. I think some of TR's best teamwork moments come from Race missions.

Totally agree with the confidence point, i think the main point is seeing how a game goes and IF necessary camping FTW or the other way round, camping them for the win.

On the RACE subject, i enjoy it, but on some objective based games KDR goes out the window and its about the overall win that count, i pretty much always go for the suicide attack mentality on race, run3, ar1 or shield 3 with stuns or smokes.

I dont think we(TRF) should ALWAYS go for cheap win tactics but if its needed then by all means xD
