EU's New Server

Yesterday we were all shocked to see Konami has finally got us a new server. It is located in Dublin, Ireland Hopefully it will take glitchers a bit longer to find out how to get "Mao" working again (probably about a week though ) and overall a less laggy game.



If you want to test your true ping to this new server, go to Command Prompt on your computer and type "ping 79.125.87.186".

Do you think they did this to keep us happy? Strange considering how old the game is.

Or maybe in preparation for whatever online game will be with Rising? Possibly ironing out any bugs so that their next online venture moves more smoothly.

It's impossible to say, they haven't cared about our happiness with the past 2 years. I know the servers have a 1 year contract so I guess we atleast get 1 more year of this game. I think if they forked out the rumoured €15,000, they must have big plans. Also, Rising should be released in about 1 year, they might give us a lag free year before shut down. Or maybe a new expansion will be announced at next month's Toyko Game Show.

Probably testing it's performance for a year to see if it can hold out. Then if all is ok they can use it for Rising without any hassle.

A new server AND a new expansion would be pretty cool though!

New servers seem pretty good tbh. Still got quite a lot of laggy deaths and mao'd a few times.

Slightly semi-related to this topic; it looks likely we won't be getting the 1.35 patch any time soon, due to the fact they can't region lock our server. Our region mass is too great, with far too many ISP's to filter. Plus, they would need 2 different versions of the patch running in synchronisation. Even if they found away to do this, an NA glitcher posted video proof of him maoing on JP just yesterday.

Side news: MGS:Rising won't be released until 2012.

Even if 1.35 came out tomorrow, it wouldn't take someone long to find a way around it. Hasn't Black Ops been hacked already? Unfortunately there's always going to be 1% of an already sad community who will take sadness to another level. One look on NGU just fills me with pity.

I hope Rising incorporates the new PS3 Move dildo wand.

That hack is only for 360 atm, but their player base is 1000 times larger than ours. The guy selling 1.35 mao on NGU is asking for $100 to set it up, and is getting lots of customers already.
