Most threads seem to be littered with Aston Villa discussion so it's about time it had it's own topic!

Today's result: Manchester United 0 - 1 Aston Villa

For almost as long as I can remember I have been waiting for Villa to beat Man Utd in the league. Come close so many times only to be denied in the final few seconds but we finally held on this time! Never have I sweat so much watching a game of football.

A trojan like performance and seeing Alex Ferguson's face when the 4th official 'only' gave 3 mins injury time was priceless.

That's been our problem for years. It's much better this season though. Big wins against Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea. Only losses are against West Ham, Blackburn and Wigan. Wigan was the only shameful loss really but that was on the 1st day of the season and the 1st game usually throws out some weird results.

League table is looking good though:

We have to keep it up, last season we let ourselves go and struggled for wins after January.
I think we are a sure hit for 4th place, 3rd place may be a novelty atm since arsenal are 2 games behind.

Champions league ftw!

We dont have the distraction of Europe this season so hopefully having less games to play will help keep our squad in shape.

We brought quality players over the summer and with 1 or 2 more in January I think we can stay in the top 4. Oh, and maybe a nice trip to Wembley aswell

Away at Sunderland on Tuesday night. Just the kind of game I can imagine us losing after beating Man Utd. I'd be happy with a draw considering this is away from home and the players still probably being tired after Saturday's game,

Good win. I missed the 1st half as I was playing football but Milner's goal in the 2nd half was quality.

Just seen the 1st half highlights. Good Heskey goal actually. Through ball from Milner which he finished nicely. Milner is just looking awesome at the moment. Has to go to the World Cup.

Friedel and Dunne were both beasts again. I think Man City made an absolute stinker selling him to us.

Carew is a beast. Kicks the corner flag in to some poor child's face and then gives him his shirt at the end of the game along with a big fat kiss. What a legend.
